1. Introduction
Opus Health Connect (“Opus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a premium concierge experience for individuals undergoing elective surgery. We take the privacy of the people we serve seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. This Policy applies to information we collect through our website (opushealthconnect.com), our ambassador-led services, and any related communications with you.
2. Defining Our Relationship With You
Throughout this Policy, we refer to the individual we serve as our “Client.” You may also be a patient of the physician practice that enrolled you in an Opus care episode — but in your relationship with Opus, you are our Client. We use the term Client intentionally: it reflects the elevated, personalized service we are committed to providing.
3. Defining Our Relationship With You
This Policy applies to:
Clients who enroll in an Opus care episode through a partner physician practice.
Prospective Clients, caregivers, and family members who interact with us before or during an episode.
Website visitors who browse opushealthconnect.com.
Physician partners and their staff who engage with Opus as part of our practice partnerships.
Opus services are intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information directly from minors. In rare cases, a Client may share information about a minor dependent with their Opus team; in those cases, we treat that information with the same care as Client information and use it only to support the Client’s experience.
4. A Note About HIPAA
Opus is not a healthcare provider and is not a “covered entity” under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). HIPAA does not directly govern our relationship with you. That said, we take the sensitivity of health-related information seriously regardless of whether HIPAA applies. In certain engagements, we may enter into a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with a physician practice partner. Where a BAA is in place, we handle the applicable information in accordance with the terms of that agreement, in addition to this Policy.
5. Information We Collect
We intentionally keep the information we collect minimal — only what we need to coordinate a seamless concierge experience for you.
Information You Provide to Us
Your Client Ambassador collects your information verbally during introductory conversations and enters it into our systems on your behalf. You are not asked to fill out intake forms. The categories we collect are:
Contact and identifying information: your name, address, phone number, and email.
Procedure information: your scheduled procedure date, your surgeon, and the type of surgical procedure.
Anything else you choose to share: we ask open-ended questions about what would make your experience exceptional. You decide what to share — for example, preferences, needs, or circumstances you feel are helpful for your Client Ambassador to know. We collect only what you choose to tell us.
Payment information: we do not store credit card numbers ourselves. Payments are processed securely through Stripe, our payment processor. We retain a record that a payment was made, the amount, and the associated episode.
Information We Collect Automatically
When you visit opushealthconnect.com, limited technical information may be collected automatically by the platform that hosts our website (Framer), including device type, browser type, and general usage data. We do not currently use Google Analytics, marketing pixels, or similar tracking technologies on our website.
Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from the physician practice that enrolled you in an Opus care episode, to help us coordinate your experience.
6. Recorded Communications
To deliver a consistent, high-quality concierge experience, we record certain communications between you and your Client Ambassador, including:
Phone calls
Text messages (SMS)
Voicemails
These recordings are made through our communications platform, Quo, and are used for quality assurance, training, and to help us continuously improve the service we provide to you. They are stored securely, accessible only to authorized Opus team members, and retained in accordance with the data retention practices described in this Policy.
We comply with all applicable federal and state laws regarding the recording of communications. Where required by law, we will provide notice at the time of the call.
7. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Coordinate and deliver your concierge care experience before, during, and after your surgery.
Communicate with you about your care episode, including reminders, logistics, and follow-up.
Process payments for our service.
Coordinate with your physician practice and their care team.
Operate, maintain, and improve our services.
Comply with legal, regulatory, and tax obligations.
Protect the safety and rights of our Clients, staff, and partners.
We do not use your information for advertising or marketing purposes. Our communications with you are transactional — focused on your care episode, logistics, and service delivery — not promotional.
8. How We Share Your Information
We share information only as needed to deliver the concierge experience you have enrolled in, and only with the following categories of recipients:
Your Physician Practice and Care Team
We share information with the physician practice that enrolled you, and their clinical team, as needed to coordinate your surgery and recovery.
Service Providers
We use a small, intentional set of technology providers to run our operations. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only to provide services to Opus. The providers you are most likely to interact with directly are:
Quo — our communications platform for calls, text messages, and voicemails between you and your Client Ambassador.
Stripe — our payment processor.
Behind the scenes, we also use a small number of additional providers to support our operations, including a secure operations database, workflow automation tools, a forms and survey platform, and our website hosting platform. These providers are subject to the same contractual privacy and security obligations as those named above.
Legal and Safety Reasons
We may share information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Opus, our Clients, or others.
Business Transfers
If Opus is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require any successor to honor the commitments in this Policy.
9. We Do Not Sell or Rent Your Data
Opus does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We use the information you provide solely to deliver the concierge experience you have engaged us for.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. These may include:
The right to access the personal information we hold about you.
The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
The right to delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
The right to opt out of certain uses of your information.
The right to data portability — to receive a copy of your information in a portable format.
The right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and other states with applicable privacy laws may have additional or specific rights under those laws. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information below. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
11. Communications From Us
Our communications with you are transactional in nature. They relate to your care episode — scheduling, logistics, reminders, follow-up, and similar service-related topics. We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, or promotional text messages.
If we ever begin sending any marketing communications in the future, we will update this Policy and provide you with a clear way to opt out.
12. Cookies and Tracking
Our website is built on the Framer platform and may use limited cookies or similar technologies that are standard to that platform to operate the site. We do not currently use Google Analytics, marketing pixels, or advertising trackers.
If that changes, we will update this section and, where required by law, provide a cookie banner allowing you to make choices about non-essential cookies.
13. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as we need it to provide our services and meet our legal obligations.
As a general rule, we retain Client information for up to one (1) year after the close of your care episode. We keep it for this limited period so that we can continue to serve you well if you return to us for a future procedure, and to resolve any follow-up questions or administrative matters that may arise after your episode ends.
Certain records — such as financial, tax, or legal records — may be retained longer where required by law. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or anonymize it.
14. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect the information we collect. These measures include limiting access to authorized team members, using reputable service providers with strong security practices, and maintaining tiered access controls within our systems.
No system is completely secure, and no transmission of information over the internet can be guaranteed to be absolutely safe. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot warrant the security of any information you transmit to us.
15. Children
Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us so we can address it.
16. Children
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through other means. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
